Discus its scientific name known as Symphysodon. It is originated from Amazon river.

There are four main strains of discus fish are:

Blue Discus

Blue discus the body is yellowish-brown to light turquoise and its has variation of colour.

Brown Discus

The brown discus the body is usually yellow-brown and subspecies of the green discus.

Green Discus

The green discus the body color is yellowish-brown with the lower parts spotted red.

Heckel Discus

The shape of heckel discus is huge and rounder than other discus. Its body colour is red with turquoise veins running throughout. There are two ordinary strains in heckle which are red discus and pineapple.
